Dean Macfarlan is the founder and CEO of Terramesa Development Group. LLC. He is also the Founder and Managing Partner of Macfarlan Capital Partners, a 24 year old real estate private equity investment firm, and strategic partner for Terramesa. The firm has completed more than $1 billion in tactical commercial real estate transactions on behalf of institutional investors and wealth management advisors. Dean has lead a team that focused much of their investment activity in the residential and resort business, acquiring, developing, and managing residential, resort, and mixed-use properties. Macfarlan has accumulated significant experience in the space by investing with other premier luxury builders and developers, which has uniquely positioned him to lead an innovative platform like Terramesa. He is passionate about travel and memory creation not only for his own family, but the entire Terramesa owner community. He consistently reminds his team that our purpose is clearly revealed in the Terramesa mission of "Our family creating memories for your family."
Dean is a founding member of the University of Texas Graduate Center for Real Estate Finance and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from the University of Texas. He lives in Dallas with his wife, Tawney, and they have two adult children. When not casting the vision for MCP or Terramesa, Dean can often be found hiking, biking and fly fishing in the mountains of Vail Colorado.
